About
Greg was Executive Vice President and Chief Development Officer at Cobalt International Energy, with global accountability for bringing deepwater discoveries through the development pipeline and into production. Prior to his position at Cobalt, Greg served as Vice President, Upstream Developments at Marathon Oil, where he had global accountability for major projects, central engineering, and operational reliability. Before joining Marathon, Greg served as Vice President – Major Projects for BP where he was responsible for projects excellence and oversight of approximately 70 major developments globally. He has led numerous world-class projects to success; these include Atlantis (ultra-deepwater GOM), the expansion of the world’s largest processing plant in Prudhoe Bay, Alaska, as well as projects in Venezuela, Ecuador, Algeria, West Africa, Norway, UK North Sea, Denmark, and China.
Greg is currently on the Executive Advisory Committee and is past Vice Chairman, – Engineering and Construction Contracting Association. He’s on the Industry Advisory Board – Masters of Energy Business Program, University of Tulsa; and the Advisory Board, Project Management Certificate Program, Texas A&M University. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Engineering from California Polytechnic University, and is a graduate of a proprietary executive development program at MIT’s Sloan School of Business.
